Delta Dental of California is starting a voluntary group dental preferred provider organization plan that will be open to employers with as few as 5 employees.

California Delta, San Francisco, says it is holding monthly premiums down by requiring plan members to wait 12 months to receive most kinds of dental treatments.

To compensate for the 12-month treatment benefits phase-in period, members receive 100% immediate coverage for diagnostic and preventive services.

California Delta is guaranteeing that plan premiums will remain level for at least 24 months.

Orthodontia coverage is available for groups enrolling 25 or more primary enrollees, and rate discounts are available for employers that offer group dental coverage in conjunction with Section 125 plans, California Delta says.
