Wealthtech firm Orion and fintech concern iCapital announced an enhanced collaboration Tuesday that offers independent advisors streamlined, single sign-on access to alternative investments.

The expanded technology integration, developed as part of Orion’s Premier Partnership Program, allows advisors to deliver tailored portfolios that meet investors' demands for alternative investments, Orion said.

The firm, citing its 2025 Advisor Wealthtech Survey, noted that 30% of advisors prioritize alternative investments and that 28% plan to do so within three years. Orion’s 2025 Investor Survey reveals a gap, however, as only 23% of investors reported access to alternatives through their advisors.

The expanded technology collaboration seeks to bridge the gap, Orion said.

“This deepened collaboration with iCapital simplifies the complexities of alternative investments, enabling advisors to build more diversified, goal-aligned portfolios,” said Todd Bertucci, executive vice president, Orion Advisor Technology.

The collaboration gives independent advisors new access to institutional-grade tools and alternative investment opportunities, Orion said.

“With single sign-on to the iCapital Marketplace, unified reporting and a full suite of tools, advisors can manage the investment lifecycle with greater efficiency and insight,” said Steve Houston, managing director and iCapital Solutions co-head.
