NEW YORK (HedgeWorld.com)–Ernest Rouse and Eric Hummel will join Refco Group Ltd. to market its online foreign exchange clearing and trading capabilities to institutional traders such as hedge funds.

Both will be responsible for increasing the distribution of Refco’s FX online, FX Clear and Refco FX ProTrader. The FX ProTrader platform was introduced to hedge funds late last year ?see ?

“Ernst and Eric each bring a wealth of experience to our expansion game plan, said Daniel Conte, global head of E-FX Institutional Sales and Marketing, Refco Capital Markets Ltd., in a statement. “The current climate in FX is hot, with more than [US]$1.9 trillion traded each day and increased interest by hedge funds and institutional investors.”

Mr. Rouse joins from HotSpot FX, where he was responsible for sales and support. He will work from Refco’s New York office. Mr. Hummel will be based in Chicago and joins from Bank One, where he was a director at the bank’s foreign exchange trading and sales desk.

Last year, Timothy Crawford was hired in Chicago to sell fixed-income clearing, futures clearing and execution services to broker-dealers, institutional investors, proprietary trading desks and hedge funds (see ).
