FrontPoint Aims for Retail Market

GREENWICH, Conn. (HedgeWorld.com)–FrontPoint Partners LLC moved to boost distribution for its lineup of hedge fund strategies with the hiring of two marketing and sales executives.

Jack Zimmermann and Dominic Martellaro were hired in FrontPoint’s client advisory group. Messrs. Zimmermann and Martellaro will work to build intermediary distribution, according to a FrontPoint statement. Like FrontPoint Chief Executive Philip Duff, both have experience working at the Morgan Stanley mutual fund unit Van Kampen.

Mr. Zimmermann was president and managing director of Van Kampen Distributors, which oversaw distributed Van Kampen’s funds through brokerage channels. Mr. Martellaro was director of national sales for Van Kampen Funds, another unit of Morgan Stanley. Mr. Duff once served as president and chief executive of Van Kampen.

FrontPoint Partners last month established a health care management unit as part of its effort to combine the entrepreneurial aspects of managing hedge fund portfolios with the infrastructure and controls of an institutional firm .
