Principal To Run 401(k) Plan For Royals

NU Online News Service, April 10, 2:30 p.m. – Principal Financial Group Inc., Des Moines, Iowa, has won a contract to set up and run a 401(k) plan for the Kansas City Royals Corp., Kansas City, Mo., the company that owns the Kansas City Royals Major League Baseball team.

The plan will be the Royals’ first 401(k) plan. Executives expect it to have 140 members and about $1 million in annual deposits, Principal says.

The plan will offer outside investment funds as well as Principal funds, Principal says.
