President Donald Trump has nominated Daniel Aronowitz to be assistant secretary of Labor for the Employee Benefits Security Administration, which writes retirement policy.
Former EBSA head Lisa Gomez has resigned.
Aronowitz is founder and lead executive of Encore (formerly Euclid) Fiduciary, which, according to his LinkedIn profile, are underwriters of fiduciary liability, cyber and crime insurance for employee benefit plans.
The Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions has postponed until Feb. 19 the nomination hearing for Lori Chavez-DeRemer to serve as Labor secretary.
The HELP Committee postponed the hearing scheduled for Wednesday due to snow.
Trump said in November that he would nominate Chavez-DeRemer, a Republican with an unusually pro-union record.
