The Association of African American Financial Advisors kicked off its annual conference — Value. Impact. Success. Influence. Optimize. Now.  —  Wednesday at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland.

This year, AAAA’s three-day V.I.S.I.O.N. Conference is focused on the theme “Navigating the Future of Wealth Management for Black America.”

The nonprofit membership organization for African American advisors and other wealth management industry professionals announced it will also shine a spotlight on the recipient of the annual Spirit of the V.I.S.I.O.N. Leadership Award.

For the first time, meanwhile, AAAA said it will recognize an exceptional collaborator who has actively championed the organization’s mission.

Details of this year’s conference were announced after AAAA confirmed it plans to hold regional conferences in New York City and Jackson, Mississippi.

“Hundreds of Black/African American financial advisors and financial planners” were expected to take part in this week’s conference, AAAA said. This year’s theme “underscores the Association’s commitment to enriching the financial landscape of African American communities,” the organization said.

“We stand at the helm of an important mission to navigate the future of wealth management for Black America,” according to Christian Nwasike, chairman of the AAAA board. “Our annual V.I.S.I.O.N. Conference provides an ideal platform to drive this mission forward.”

For the first time, AAAA is also “creating a structured system to formally acknowledge the invaluable contributions” of strategic partners, it said.
