Franklin Templeton subsidiary AdvisorEngine named Ned Dane, who has worked at firms including Merrill Lynch and OppenheimerFunds, its new chief growth officer, overseeing relationship management and sales.

Before joining AdvisorEngine, Dane had the same role at artificial intelligence software firm Aidentified since 2019, according to his LinkedIn profile. Prior to that, he served in several executive roles at companies including OppenheimerFunds from 2014-2019, Merrill Lynch from 2007-2014 and AXA Advisors from 2002-2007.

Dane, an industry expert on generational insights and artificial intelligence within financial services, is succeeding George Tamer, who joined AdvisorEngine in 2021, the company said. Tamer left the company to join Citi Alliance as head of sales and relationship management.

As chief growth officer, Dane is “charged with helping AdvisorEngine clients use data and technology to grow their revenue, achieve deeper operational efficiency and deliver elevated client service,” the fintech firm said.

The AdvisorEngine platform is “perfectly positioned to bring scale to leading wealth management firms,” according to Dane.

Dane will report to AdvisorEngine CEO Rich Cancro.  Dane will also coordinate with COO Craig Ramsey on marketing and growth initiatives, according to AdvisorEngine.

“With his leadership experience in wealth management, asset management and technology, Ned can be a valuable sounding board for senior executives within our client base,” Cancro said in a statement.

Franklin Resources — the parent firm of fund manager Franklin Templeton — acquired digital wealth platform AdvisorEngine for an undisclosed amount in 2020.
