Advisors want to be the bearers of good news. Nothing cheers both advisors and clients more than conducting a portfolio review and showing clients how much money they’ve made. But we know the Grinch hated Christmas and people having a good time. Sometimes advisors must take that role when clients get crazy ideas and need to be brought back down to Earth. 

In the 10 examples above, the advisor sounds like the Grinch. You are only trying to protect the client from themselves. You work in financial services, an industry where there’s liquidity and transparency in pricing.
