State lawmakers with an interest in insurance have named Louisiana state Sen. Dan “Blade” Morrish to be their 2018-2019 president.
The Lake Charles, Louisiana, Republican has been serving as a state legislator since 1996. He is now the business manager at Lake Charles Pilots, according to his state Senate biography. In the past, he worked as a marine underwriter at the Insurance Company of North America.
Morrish is a member of the Louisiana Senate Insurance Committee, and the chairman of the Education Committee.
Because of term limits, Morrish will leave the state Senate at the end of 2019.
