Boomers taking steps to stay healthy

When it comes to offsetting health care needs, many boomers are taking action. Seventy-three percent of them, according to a survey done as part of Energizer Holdings Inc.’s “Keep Going. Live Healthy” campaign, indicate their health and the health of their spouse is excellent.

Still, disparities exist. The National Center for Health Statistics says half of half of Americans in the 55 to 64 age group have high blood pressure and two in five are obese.

Nonetheless, boomers are taking steps to stay healthy. Sixty-eight percent report taking vitamins or nutritional supplements and a third of boomers exercise.
