Raymond James said this week that it recently welcomed 12 financial advisors to its independent channel from Ameriprise Financial and Morgan Stanley, as well as a group of four advisors to its employee channel from UBS. The teams have managed client assets of $950 million, $500 million and $340 million, respectively.

Coming to Raymond James Financial Services in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and to offices throughout Texas is the Springs Wealth Group. The team is led by managing partners Bob Book, Andrew Inman, Tim Mason, Chris Van Stavern and Chris Young. Its other advisors are Kristen Christensen, Travis Crowell, Bryan Ladrow, Camden Steele and Jerrad Bridgmon.

“We chose Raymond James for its strong culture rooted in integrity, independence and advisor support. It’s clear the firm is deeply committed to empowering advisors and prioritizing what’s best for their clients — values that align perfectly with our own,” Young said in a statement.

Also joining Raymond James’ indie channel are advisors Jim Phillips and Aaron Phillips, CFP, of Cottonwood Capital Management in Salt Lake City. Jim has been in the business for over 30 years and has been with Morgan Stanley and its predecessor firms since 2003, while Aaron joined his father at the wirehouse in 2015; earlier, Aaron worked as an analyst for the U.S. Treasury Department.

Raymond James & Associates — the firm’s employee channel — recently welcomed Novak Cancienne Tresca & Kungel Wealth Management of New Orleans. The team includes advisors Gene Novak, David Cancienne, Kerry Kungel, CFP; and Travis Tresca.

“Raymond James differentiates itself as a firm that invests both in its culture and the tools that move us forward. In addition to the friendly nature of the firm’s leadership and associates, its thoughtful use of technology streamlines how we operate while enhancing the client experience,” said Novak.

Novak spent the past 12 years at UBS and before that was with Wells Fargo for roughly 32 years. Cancienne has roughly 32 years of industry experience, Kungel has 18 years, and Tresca has 13 years.

As of April 30, Raymond James' Private Client Group had $1.47 trillion of assets under supervision. Its total number of advisors was 8,787 as of Sept. 30, 2024 — with roughly 5,000 indie advisors and 3,800 employee advisors.
