An arm of a Canadian financial services giant is fine-tuning a line of group insurance products aimed at small employers.
The Wellesley Hills, Mass.-based U.S. operation of Sun Life Financial Inc., Toronto, is updating the E-Z Choice small group benefits products.
Sun Life acquired the line when it acquired the group insurance operations of Genworth Financial Inc., Richmond, Va.
The changes include the addition of emergency travel assistance benefits to group life plans, "retroactive disability benefits" for group long-term disability plan participants who become seriously disabled, and a larger provider network for group dental plan members.
The dental network is expanding for customers in Connecticut, Delaware, Idaho, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Utah, Virginia, Washington state and the District of Columbia.
