RIA Mercer Global Advisors has appointed Gün Keresteci as its chief financial officer. Earlier, Keresteci was consultancy McKinsey & Co.’s global head of finance.

He takes over as CFO from Michael Henry — now a full-time member of the RIA’s M&A team, which completed more than 12 acquisitions last year and added five executives last week: Andy Burgess, Greg Mayes, Jay Robertson, Stacey Orff and Jeff Dadamo, who moved from Fidelity, LPL Financial, Charles Schwab, DeVoe & Company and Dimensional Fund Advisors, respectively.

“Hiring a person of Gün’s caliber, a leader with vast multi-disciplinary experience, reinforces our commitment to building the preeminent fiduciary financial advisory firm,” said CEO Dave Welling. “His recent experience as the finance leader of McKinsey … brings valuable thought-leadership and operational excellence to our firm.”

Keresteci spent over 20 years at McKinsey. He also has worked for a decade in private equity, investment management and banking, including stints at AllianceBernstein, Lightyear Capital and Turk Merchant Bank.

“I now feel fortunate to be part of Mercer Advisors, whose differentiated offering and operating model make them a leader in the RIA space,” explained Keresteci in a statement. “I share Mercer Advisors’ commitment to the ‘one team’ vision and believe strongly in the benefits this ‘one firm’ approach brings to clients and employees.”

The Denver-based RIA has a network of 1,060 employees who work with about $56 billion in assets. Last year, more than 260 professionals joined the firm, it says, along with others who came on board via mergers and acquisitions. It has over 80 locations nationwide, and its businesses are majority owned by Oak Hill Capital, Genstar Capital and Altas Partners.

“I had the privilege of seeing first-hand Gün’s thoughtful and collaborative finance leadership during the years we worked together at McKinsey, and I couldn’t be more excited to call him once again my partner,” President Daniel Gourvitch said in a press release.
