The Foundation for Financial Planning, which focuses on providing pro bono services nationwide, says Meg Carpenter is joining its board of trustees, with Dave Yeske, CFP, becoming board chair and Tony Svach assuming the role of vice chair.

Carpenter will serve a three-year term, while Yeske and Svach will each have a one-year term.

“Meg has been a longtime supporter of FFP’s work, donating her time and expertise to help raise awareness of the incredible impact of pro bono financial planning,” said Jon Dauphiné, CEO of the organization. “We are delighted to welcome Meg to our board and excited about the new perspectives she’ll add to our growing efforts.”

Carpenter is CEO and co-founder of the marketing firm FiComm Partners, which focuses on the independent wealth management space. She has worked in the industry for over two decades, after beginning her career at John Hancock Financial Network.

The foundation’s staff and board of trustees “are an inspiring group of esteemed industry leaders who really care about giving back … ,” Carpenter said in a statement. “As [its] pro bono marketing and PR partner for the last four years, I have seen firsthand the incredible impact the organization delivers to communities in need.”

Yeske is managing director of Yeske Buie, a financial planning firm with offices in Vienna, Virginia, and San Francisco. He also is dean of the Financial Planning Association’s residency program and director of the financial planning program and Golden Gate University’s Ageno School of Business.

“I’m honored to step into this leadership position with FFP,” said Yeske in a statement. “I have been a financial planner for over 30 years and am deeply passionate about the importance of pro bono planning for communities in need. I am proud to have the opportunity to lead this esteemed board.”

Svach is the head of intermediary sales at Allspring Global Investments. Before joining Allspring, he was a managing director at BlackRock and vice president at Goldman Sachs; he also served in the Army’s 12th Special Forces Group. He began his investment industry career in 1993.

The Foundation for Financial Planning serves at-risk populations, including active members of the military and wounded veterans, people with cancer and other serious illnesses, seniors and family caregivers, low-income individuals and families, domestic violence survivors and others.

Over its more than 25 years, it has provided over $9 million in grants to national and community-based pro bono programs; worked with partners so 27,000 financial planners could volunteer their time; and reached over 715,000 people in crisis or need.
