Barbara Eden, the actor who starred as a genie in “I Dream of Jeannie,” has agreed to grant the wish of WeBuy75.com, a life insurance policy valuation firm, by becoming its spokeswoman.

Eden, 92, will appear in radio ads featuring “I Dream of Jeannie” theme music, and she’ll also appear on the WeBuy75.com website and in company marketing materials, the firm says.

Stephen Terrell, the senior brand marketing director at WeBuy75.com, said Eden was especially well-suited to explaining life settlements to baby boomers.

“She’s an iconic figure,” Terrell said.

What it means: Even some clients who have no intention of selling their life insurance policies could hear the radio ads and begin to associate life insurance policies with genies.

WeBuy75.com: The site helps connect people who have permanent life insurance policies, and term life policies that give the holders permanent life policy purchase rights, with life settlement investors through policy appraisal services.

The firm recently began attracting the policy owners’ attention by offering an online life expectancy calculator aimed at life insurance policy insureds.

Barbara Eden: Eden was born in 1931 in Tucson, Arizona, and later moved to San Francisco, according to her Biography, com entry. She appeared on many television shows in the 1950s and early 1960s, including “The Johnny Carson Show, “The Andy Griffith Show” and “Gunsmoke.”

She co-starred with Elvis Presley in the film “Flaming Star” in 1960.

In “I Dream of Jeannie,” which ran from 1965 to 1970, Eden played a genie who was freed from her bottle by Tony Nelson, an astronaut. While granting wishes, she scrunched up her nose and blinked.

After 1970, she appeared in many other TV shows and stage productions.

From 2020 through 2022, she played the voice of Jeannie in a series of YouTube shows about revelations from Jeannie’s diaries.
