SoFi Invest members who make eligible contributions to individual retirement accounts between now and April 15 can look forward to a 2% matching contribution from the digital personal finance firm.

The firm’s new offer doubles the previously announced 1% IRA match offered in late 2023, according to the announcement. The goal of offering the matches, according to the firm, is to empower SoFi members to make the most of their IRA contributions and accelerate their retirement savings during tax season.

SoFi members can earn the match on all new automated clearing house transfers into IRA accounts. The match will be treated as interest earned on the account and won’t affect contribution limits, SoFi says.

Coinciding with the expanded match is an ongoing expansion of SoFi’s Active Invest and Automated Investing platforms, meant to improve access to planning support for members. The expanded programming includes access to certified financial planners, access to fractional share trading, and access to educational articles on investing, financial planning, retirement and more.

According to a recent survey by SoFi, while retirement is the top financial ambition for most Americans, almost half don’t feel they are able to save enough.
