What You Need to Know

  • The two hires fill newly created roles at the firm.
  • The firm added Dimple Shah from Cielo Advisor as executive vice president of corporate strategy on April 25.
  • Advisor Group picked up Iryna Northrip, CFA, from Mariner Wealth Advisors to serve as chief compliance officer, investment advisory.

Advisor Group announced two new hires, saying it added Dimple Shah, formerly of Cielo Advisor, as executive vice president of corporate strategy on April 25 and Iryna Northrip, CFA, from Mariner Wealth Advisors as chief compliance officer, investment advisory, on Monday.

The additions are both new roles at the firm and “enhance” its team in support of its “strategic vision,” Advisor Group said Monday.

Shah is responsible for Advisor Group’s growth strategy and will serve on its executive committee. She reports to Jamie Price, Advisor Group CEO and president.

Shah has over 20 years of experience in developing corporate and business strategies for Fortune 500 firms, Advisor Group noted. Most recently, she was a managing principal at Cielo Advisor, an independent strategy consultancy, where she played a major role in developing Advisor Group’s current strategic plan, it said. Previously, Shah served as head of corporate strategy for LPL Financial.

Northrip is reporting to Steve Wastek, Advisor Group chief risk officer, and is overseeing compliance for investment advisory portfolios across the company’s network. She will also “contribute to the broader evolution of risk and compliance for the firm,” according to Advisor Group.

Northrip previously served as vice president, regulatory counsel and chief compliance officer at Mariner Wealth Advisors in Overland Park, Kansas.

“Expanding our ability to serve our advisors and their clients by bringing in top talent is a critical component of our strategy,” according to Price. “For the last two years, we’ve been hiring across the organization adding new leaders and fresh perspectives to Advisor Group,” he said in a statement.

“Dimple and Iryna represent the high caliber of talent and leadership we are building to support the future of our firm and the futures of the advisors who affiliate with us,” according to Greg Cornick, president, Advice and Wealth Management for Advisor Group.

“Evolving our corporate strategy and fostering a culture of compliance to enable growth are key elements to our strategy,” he added.

Advisor Group’s network of firms includes FSC Securities, Royal Alliance Associates, SagePoint Financial, Securities America, Triad Advisors and Woodbury Financial Services.

Advisor Group serves about 10,100 financial advisors and oversees more than $515 billion in client assets, it said.
