Allianz Life Names Enterprise Operations Leader: Personnel Moves

Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America has hired Kumar Das Gupta to be senior vice president of enterprise operations.

Allianz Life is the Golden Valley, Minnesota-based U.S. arm of Allianz SE of Germany.

Das Gupta will oversee life underwriting, new business, in-force operations, contact center, operations data analytics and reporting, and enterprise producer services teams. The teams have a total of about 500 employees.

He previously was head of operations at Brighthouse Financial Inc. Earlier in his career, he was director of finance controlling at Prudential Financial Inc.

He has a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in finance from Stony Brook University.

In other personnel moves news:

Alliant Insurance Services has hired Paul Leblanc to be executive vice president. Alliant is a benefits consulting firm based in Newport Beach, California.

LeBlanc previously was a managing director at Willis Towers Watson. He has been working at benefits firms in Southern California since 2000.

He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Denver.

Lockton Insurance Brokers LLC, an arm of Lockton Companies, has promoted Sherri Harrison to market leader of the Lockton benefits practice in Southern California. She has been working for Lockton in San Diego for two years.

Earlier, she was a senior consultant and San Diego officer leader at Mercer.

She has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and a master’s degree in business from the University of Phoenix.

Owen & Associates is changing the titles of its top managers. The benefits firm based in Collingwood, Ontario, serves a total of about 400 employers, including employers in California as well as employers in Canada.

Michael Owen, the man who founded the firm in 1998 and has been serving as its president, will become CEO.

Steven Owen, who has been the vice president of operations, will become president.

Majesco, an insurance software company, has hired Ravi Krishnan to be chief technology officer.

Krishnan previously was principal solutions leader for worldwide healthcare and insurance at Amazon Web Services. Earlier in his career, he worked for Kaiser Permanente and for GE Insurance.

He has a bachelor’s degree from BITS-Pilani and a master’s degree in business from Arizona State University.
