AmeriLife Group LLC has hired Bob Yates to be vice president, distribution, analytics and data. The Clearwater, Florida-based firm is a distributor of life insurance, annuity and health insurance products.

Yates will develop new analytical tools that people involved with product distribution can use to increase sales and improve service.

He previously was vice president, finance-distribution, with CNO Financial Group Inc. One of his jobs was managing compensation policy and commission operations at CNO’s insurance company subsidiaries, such as Bankers Life.

Yates has a bachelor’s degree from Northern Illinois University and a master’s degree in business from DePaul University.

In other personnel moves news:

Thrivent Financial for Lutherans has hired Brett Brunick to be chief digital and technology officer.

Brunick is filling a new role at Thrivent, and the Minneapolis-based company says he will help it become a digital-first organization.

He previously was chief information officer at TCF Bank. While there, he helped create an online mobile system, set up a customer relationship management system at the branches and contact centers, and modernize old, legacy systems.

He has a bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University.

Aflac Inc. has hired Takeko Uemoto to be senior vice president, enterprise corporate actuary.

Uemoto, who is filling a newly created position at the Columbus, Georgia-based insurer, previously was a vice president and actuary at Prudential International Insurance, an arm of Prudential Financial Inc.

She has a bachelor’s degree from Waseda University and a master’s degree in business from the College of Insurance in New York.

She holds the Chartered Financial Analyst, fellow of the Society of Actuaries, member of the American Academy of Actuaries and Financial Risk Manager professional designations.

MIB Group Inc. has hired Christie Corado to be general counsel, corporate secretary and chief privacy officer.

Corado is taking over for Jonathan Sager, who has stepped down from the general counsel post at the Braintree, Massachusetts-based insurance consortium and who will be working for the organization as a special counsel until the end of the year.

Corado previously was deputy general counsel at Truist Insurance Holdings Inc. Earlier, she was general counsel at Crump Life Insurance Services Inc.

She serves on the boards of Finseca and of the Saint Joseph’s University Maguire Academy of Insurance and Risk Management.

She has a bachelor’s degree from Penn State University and a law degree from Widener University.
