Jud Mackrill has stepped down as Carson Group’s chief marketing officer after more than two years to co-found his own company, a fintech startup called Milemarker based in Charleston, South Carolina, that assists advisors with their data.
Milemarker is “focused on solving the key data and integration problems that are hindering progress inside of today’s leading financial services companies,” according to its website.
The company was “built to solve the integration problem that is halting technology and experience advancement among financial services firms,” Mackrill told ThinkAdvisor on Friday. “We partner with IBDs, aggregators, custodians and large RIAs to help them better control and deploy data-driven solutions and unified experiences,” said Mackrill, who is the fintech firm’s CEO.
“I loved my time at Carson,” he said. However, “I have always had a desire to solve more and more technology-related issues plaguing the industry, and the opportunity to partner with” co-founder Paul Kent Graeve and “build Milemarker [came up] and, the more I thought about it, I realized I couldn’t pass it up,” he said.
Carson Group “afforded me the ability to build and recruit a tremendous team that are executing at a best-in-class level [and] this gave me confidence to move on to another challenge while knowing that Carson’s businesses and partners will be served with excellence,” he explained.
