Advisor Group says it has hired a recruiting executive from LPL Financial to lead broker-dealer Triad Advisors’ growth efforts. The news comes two months after Advisor Group acquired Triad and four other BDs from Ladenburg Thalmann.
Brian Shulstad is now senior vice president of Business Development at Triad, which is based in Atlanta. In addition to a recruiting focus, he will also support advisors’ branch expansion and acquisitions.
Advisor Group also recently nabbed former LPL executive Gregory Cornick, who is now president of Advice and Wealth Management.
“With over 25 years of industry experience, [Shulstad] will help further solidify Triad’s position in the market as the top destination of choice for independent financial professionals, hybrid practices and independent RIA firms …,” said Triad CEO and President Jeff Rosenthal, in a statement.
Shulstad was vice president of business development at LPL for about 12 years. Earlier, he held senior roles at A.G. Edwards and H&R Block Financial Advisors.
