Janney Montgomery Scott says it has a new head of wealth planning: Martin Schamis, CFP, recently joined the firm from Vanguard Group, where he spent most of the past 11 years as a senior manager of financial planning and advice services.
In his new role, Schamis will be in charge of the strategic direction of Janney’s Planning Solutions Group which supports the firm’s 740 financial advisors. (Janney is an independent unit of Penn Mutual Life.)
“We take pride in the accessibility of our experts in various financial disciplines and Martin’s addition to our team represents this commitment to our advisors and their clients,” said Kevin J. Reed, head of wealth management, in a statement.
“Martin’s extensive experience in planning solutions, in addition to his knowledge about how technology can complement the planning processes, will continue to build Janney’s platform to reach investors in any demographic and with any combination of needs,” Reed explained.
