Kicking off the 2011 fi360 Conference in San Antonio, Texas, on Thursday, fi360 CEO Blaine Aikin and AdvisorOne Wealth Editor-in-Chief Kate McBride presented the winner of the fi360 Fiduciary Article Competition, Michael Montgomery, with his prize.
Montgomery won the year-long competition with his article, "Multiple Employer Plans as a Fiduciary Risk Mitigation Tool." In his article, Montgomery discusses the origin of MEPs and how they have evolved to serve a much larger potential group of companies and participants.
As the managing principal of Montgomery Retirement Plan Advisors, Inc., in Tampa, Fla., Montgomery is a consultant to retirement plan sponsors. The firm has earned the CEFEX certification from the Centre for Fiduciary Excellence.
