Curtis Huntington will be the next chairperson of the Actuarial Board for Counseling and Discipline.

The Council of U.S. Presidents, a committee made up of top leaders from 5 U.S. actuarial groups, picked Huntington to lead the board, which is part of the American Academy of Actuaries, Washington.

Huntington, director of the actuarial mathematics program at the University of Michigan and executive director of the Michigan Pension Education Training Program, has served on the board since 2008 and was chairperson in 2008. He will succeed Carol Spears, the 2010 chairperson.

In addition to being a member of the American Academy of Actuaries and a fellow of the Society of Actuaries, Schaumburg, Ill., Huntington is a fellow in the New Zealand Society of Actuaries and the Lebanese Association of Actuaries.

Huntington has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and a master’s degree in actuarial science from the University of Michigan and a law degree from Suffolk University.
