IMOs come together at NAFA Summit

What happens when you get a bunch of normally competitive independent marketing organizations together in the same place for two days?

I’m about to find out, as I’ll be in Houston today and Thursday to attend the National Association for Fixed Annuities (NAFA) IMO Summit.

Many of the finest IMOs from across the country are coming together to discuss and (hopefully?) unite on key issues that are unique to the distribution channel. A variety of panel discussions will be featured during the summit, and topics include how carriers and IMOs can better work together, how to grow sales in the new landscape of compliance and suitability, understanding the boomer demographic, recruiting top talent, and marketing yourself.

A sure highlight figures to be Wednesday’s Cocktail Reception and 151A Victory Party, which just happens to be sponsored by Life Insurance Selling and our sister publication, Senior Market Advisor. This group deserves to feel good about the demise of 151A, so a little celebration seems in order.

Be sure to follow us on Twitter (@LifeInsSelling) for some updates from the event, and I’m sure I’ll walk away with at least a couple of great story ideas that will end up in an issue of the magazine in the not-too-distant future.

If you happen to be at the event, be sure to stop by our booth and say hello.
