FX Software Maker Sponsoring Aston Villa, Fulham Soccer Clubs

FxPro Financial Services Ltd, a global retail broker in foreign exchange and CFD derivatives, is now sponsoring two English Premier League (EPL) soccer teams–Aston Villa in Birmingham, England, and London’s Fulham.

In opening weekend action for the EPL, Aston Villa topped West Ham 3-0 at Villa Park on Saturday, August 14, while on the same day Fulham traveled to Bolton Wanderers and played to a 0-0 tie.

Aston Villa is ranked #24 in Forbes’ annual list of the 25 most valuable soccer teams in the world (at $190 million).

In announcing the sponsorships in June, Denis Sukhotin, director of FxPro, which prominently displays the soccer and other sponsorships on its home page, said the firm was “committed to developing the strength of our brand through sponsorship,” going on to say that the EPL “is the world’s most popular and most watched sporting league, with an estimated worldwide following of more than a billion people in 202 countries–so the ability to grow our brand recognition in this way is significant.”

Aon recently replaced AIG as the shirt sponsor on the most highly valued sports franchise in the world as measured by Forbes–EPL’s Manchester United.
