More evidence that aging-in-place is a top priority for boomers – one third of boomer women say they plan to stay in their current home for the next 10 years, a recent survey by VibrantNation found. A similar percentage say they are thinking of moving, but they have no plans to move into retirement communities. Of the women who say they are planning on relocating, 30 percent want to try out a new city and 17 percent want to be closer to family.

The survey found gardening was a big part of respondents’ lives. Eighty-three percent of boomer women consider themselves gardeners and expect gardening to remain important to them. Forty-five percent of respondents said they are interested in low maintenance options, and 30 percent of women who are considering a move will look for a house or yard that is easier to maintain than their current residence.
