Senior Market Advisor editor brings home the gold

Senior Market Advisor managing editor, Andy Stonehouse, was honored July 9 in Kansas City, Mo., at the American Society of Business Publication Editors 2009 Western Region Awards. Stonehouse took home a Gold Award for Investigative News Analysis for his February 2008 feature, “Seeking Suitability,” presented to him by ASPBE Western Region president Jeff Gelski. The piece, the second in SMA’s ongoing “Survival Guide” series, discussed the industry’s pre-151A and “ Dateline” attempts to enhance its suitability programs and procedures, and included discussions with IMSA, individual advisors, former North Dakota insurance regulator Jim Poolman and Allianz on their various ongoing efforts.
