In executive news at Fidelity Investments, Brian B. Hogan now leads the equity unit of Fidelity Management & Research Company (FMRCo), the investment advisor to Fidelity’s family of mutual funds. Hogan has been with the firm for 15 years and has been senior vice president of equity research since 2006.

As president of the equity division, Hogan will oversee more than $491 billion in equity and high-income mutual fund assets, according to Fidelity. He now reports to Michael E. Wilens, head of asset management.

Hogan joined Fidelity in 1994 as a fixed-income analyst and became part of the equity division in 1998. He assumed his current role in October 2006.

In addition, Fidelity has named Melissa M. Reilly a portfolio manager of Fidelity Nordic Fund, succeeding Ronald Port. Reilly will continue to serve as portfolio manager of Fidelity Europe Fund, Fidelity Europe Capital Appreciation Fund and Fidelity Advisor Europe Capital Appreciation Fund, and as co-manager of Fidelity Global Balanced Fund. She joined Fidelity in 2004 as an equity research analyst in the global research team.

Boston-based Fidelity Investments currently has custodial assets of more than $2.5 trillion, including managed assets of over $1.2 trillion, as of March 31.
