Boomers face falling net worth

• $94,200 — Median net worth in 2009 of younger boomers, more than 45 percent less than in 2004.
• $159,800 — Median net worth in 2009 for older boomers, nearly 50 percent less than in 2004.
• 30% — Approximate percentage of households headed by a younger boomer that would need to cover mortgage and transaction costs at the sale of their home; 15 percent of older boomers would have to do the same.
