Poll shows financial advisors resist knee-jerk reactions to client portfolios

SEI surveyed more than 250 independent financial advisors from around the country and asked whether they are resisting their clients’ urges to move assets right now. According to the SEI survey (released in June), when faced with client pressures, only a combined 12 percent of advisors would move assets when pressured. Of that 12 percent, four percent would choose to adopt a more conservative asset allocation and eight percent would move investments to cash/money market instruments.

What is your opinion of SEI’s latest Quick Poll? Do your own thoughts correspond with the poll’s latest findings? What are you doing as a financial advisor to respond to your clients’ inclinations to adjust their portfolios during a market downturn?
