Nicholas Kaiser is director, president, and equity portfolio manager of Saturna Capital, which is the investment advisor to Amana Growth and Amana Income Funds, in Bellingham, Washington. He is president of the two Amana funds and has been the portfolio manager of Amana Income since 1990, and Amana Growth since its inception in 1994.

Kaiser holds the CFA credential, and has an economics degree from Yale College, as well as a dual-major MBA in finance and international economics from the University of Chicago.

Kaiser likes to get outdoors to ski and sail, and prior to our interview had just returned from four days of salmon fishing off the coast of Alaska, “reeling them in on a little boat in the big ocean, and there are whales, and orcas, and rain.”
