A Midwestern insurer is scooping up a smaller neighbor.
Nationwide Better Health, Columbus, Ohio, a unit of Nationwide Mutual Insurance company, has agreed to acquire WellCorp Inc., Solon, Ohio.
Nationwide Better Health already offers a wide range of wellness and disease management programs.
WellCorp, a company founded in 1995, helps employers with 1,000 or more employees by offering health screenings, health fairs, training seminars and incentive programs. The company also delivers health coaching services and manages wellness communications campaigns.
The price of the WellCorp deal was not immediately available, but Nationwide Better Health says it expects Cheryl Agranovich, WellCorp’s founder, to continue to run the business from the current offices in Solon.
