Members of the Missouri Senate agreed unanimously Thursday to confirm Doug Ommen’s appointment as director of the Missouri Department of Insurance, Financial Institutions & Professional Registration.
Missouri Gov. Matt Blunt, a Republican, nominated Blunt earlier this month.
Ommen served in the Missouri department as deputy director and general counsel under the former director, Dale Finke.
Ommen has a bachelor’s degree from Rockhurst University and a law degree from St. Louis University. He is a trustee for the Missouri Council for Economic Education.
