An Illinois pioneer in the health account market is giving customers the option of combining a health account plan and a traditional plan.
Destiny Health, Chicago, a unit of Discovery Holdings Ltd., Sandton, South Africa, says the Destiny Health Plan the company offers in Illinois will include a preferred provider organization plan option starting March 1.
An employer can offer the PPO plan along with a plan that incorporates a health reimbursement arrangement or health savings account, to ease the transition to the new type of plan, according to Destiny.
Destiny sells plans in Illinois together with Guardian Life Insurance Company of America, New York.
