Uncle Sam wants to get help with managing benefits as well as with processing personnel actions and managing compensation.

The U.S. Office of Personnel Management and the General Services Administration say they hope to release a request for proposals concerning federal employee HR privatization March 15.

Successful bidders, which could be named sometime this summer, would be managing private “shared service centers” alongside 5 existing federal shared service centers.

The new centers would be called “human resources line of business shared service centers,” according to OPM officials.
