Health Account Firm Beefs Up Windy City Network

Destiny Health is adding a new source of providers for plan members in the Chicago area.

Destiny, Chicago, a pioneer in the health account plan business, says it will be renting access to the provider network managed by HealthLink Inc., St. Louis, a unit of WellPoint Inc., Indianapolis, for plan members in and around its headquarters city.

Starting Feb. 1, Chicago-area members will have access to about 70 hospitals and 14,000 doctors in HealthLink’s Chicago-area network, according to Destiny.

Destiny plan members also will continue to have access to providers in the Chicago-area network managed by Private Healthcare Systems, Waltham, Mass., Destiny says.

The HealthLink agreement includes Cook, DeKalb, DuPage, Grundy, Kane, Kendall, La Salle, Lake, Lee, McHenry, Ogle and Will counties.

Destiny already has been offering access to the HealthLink network in South and Central Illinois, and those network arrangements will continue, Destiny says.
