The SEC announced that Charles Fishkin, who helped create the Commission’s Office of Risk Assessment under then-Chairman Bill Donaldson in 2004, will leave the Commission to take a position with AllianceBernstein.

Frank Tauches was named president of American Portfolios Financial Services, the broker/dealer based in Holbrook, New York. Lon Dolber remains CEO and chairman of the broker/dealer’s holding company, American Portfolio Holdings.

Aston Asset Management is now the advisor to 19 no-load mutual funds with assets of approximately $5.5 billion, since Highbury Financial Inc. finalized the acquisition of substantially all of ABN Amro’s U.S. mutual funds. The mutual funds are now named Aston Funds; the sales and operation teams remain unchanged.

Nestor Gonzalez joined Raymond James Financial Services as VP, business development consultant with responsibility for recruiting in the firm’s Western region. He was most recently with RG Capital/AIG Financial Advisors where he held a similar position.
