The New York Stock Exchange has agreed to let a long term care insurer have more time to work out differences with securities regulators.

The managers of the NYSE will be giving Penn Treaty American Corp., Allentown, Pa., until April 2, 2007, to settle a dispute over insurance accounting with the U.S. Securities and Exchange and get securities filings up to date, Penn Treaty says.

Penn Treaty has been experiencing a series of filing delays since its March 31 Form 10-Q filing was due last spring.

“The NYSE will continue to closely monitor the company’s progress,” Penn Treaty says.
