Sekure Healthcare Inc. has developed an “inter-carrier rider” product aimed at health insurers with insureds who have family members living in Mexico.
Health insurers, health maintenance organizations and self-insured employers can use the rider to provide supplemental dependent benefits for plan member dependents who happen to live in Mexico rather than in the United States, according to Sekure, San Diego.
The Sekure Dependent Plan offers limited-benefit medical insurance along with access to a network of providers that operates in 140 cities in 29 Mexican states, Sekure says.
Sekure will start selling the rider in California but hopes to expand soon to other states, the company says.
