John Hancock Financial Network has hired Scott Galbraith to form an agency in San Diego.
The agency will sell retirement plans, estate planning services, long term care insurance, and financial planning services for individuals, families, executives and small businesses, according to Hancock, Boston, a unit of Manulife Financial Corp., Toronto.
The new agency has a temporary office at 7676 Hazard Center Drive, San Diego.
Galbraith, the managing partner of the agency, previously was a general agent in San Diego for National Life Insurance Company, Montpelier, Vt.
Galbraith has hired several financial services professionals and expects to recruit 6 more this year, Hancock says.
Galbraith hopes to the double the size of the agency in 2007, Hancock says.
