A health insurer is introducing coverage options for individuals and families in Alabama, Iowa and Oklahoma.

Humana Inc., Louisville, Ky., says it now has started selling its HumanaOne line of individual health insurance plans in each of those states.

The policy, first introduced in Illinois in June 2002, offers purchasers access to a health savings account program as well as an individual major medical plan.

The plans coverage preventive care, prescription drugs and emergency room care, and that also offer a choice of annual deductibles, Humana says.

Humana is distributing the policies through a network of about 25,000 independent insurance agents and brokers.
