Next year will mark Charlie Johnson’s 50th year with Franklin Resources and as manager of the Franklin Income Fund. In 1957 he joined the predecessor firm, Franklin Distributors, as president and CEO, after a three-year stint in the U.S. Army. He was Franklin Resources’ CEO until 2003, and remains chairman and director of the firm and some of the Franklin Templeton funds. He holds a Yale University BA in political science and economics.
