AXA Actuary Moves To Deloitte

Deloitte Consulting L.L.P. has hired S. Michael McLaughlin to be the leader of its U.S. life actuarial practice.[@@]

McLaughlin also will oversee the coordination of the actuarial practices of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu's member firms, and he will be chairman of the Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu actuarial executive committee, according to Deloitte Consulting, New York, the consulting arm of Deloitte & Touche USA L.L.P.

Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu is a kind of association that represents independent Deloitte offices around the world, according to Deloitte & Touche USA.

McLaughlin previously was executive vice president and chief actuary at AXA Financial Inc., New York, a unit of AXA S.A., New York.

McLaughlin is a member of the board of the Society of Actuaries, Schaumburg, Ill., and a past chairman of the Financial Reporting Section Council at the SOA. He is a fellow of both the Institute of Actuaries and the Society of Actuaries.

Other recent hires at Deloitte included Mark Hopkins and Charles Brinkley, who are directors, and Neal Bauman, who is a principal, according to Deloitte Consulting.
