About The Manager

Harindra de Silva is manager of the Analytic Defensive Equity Fund, but he plays a much larger role within Analytic Investors Inc. He is responsible for plotting the firm’s strategic direction and for improving the stock selection process for all the firm’s funds, which in addition to Analytic Defensive include the Analytic Disciplined Equity Fund, Analytic Global Long-Short Fund, and Analytic Short-Term Income Fund.

De Silva explains that he “spent a lot of time figuring how asset markets work and how to build financial models” during his pursuit of a Ph.D. in finance from the University of California at Irvine and a B.S. in economic forecasting from the University of Rochester, where he also earned an M.B.A. in finance. Prior to his financial studies, he received a B.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology in England.
