A Boston investment company has added a legal executive.[@@]

The company, the U.S. money management unit of John Hancock Financial Services Inc., has hired John Danello to be vice president and chief counsel.

Danello had been vice president and group counsel for the asset management and insurance companies at Allmerica Financial Services, a unit of Allmerica Financial Corp., Worcester, Mass.

John Hancock is a unit of Manulife Financial Corporation, Toronto.
