Manulife Financial Corp., Toronto, is moving ahead with efforts to rebrand the products it sells in the United States.[@@]

The company recently announced that it was selling its U.S. life insurance products under the John Hancock brand name.

Now the company says it also is selling its Venture Variable Annuities under the John Hancock brand name.

Manulife acquired John Hancock Financial Services Inc., Boston, in April 2004.

Manulife has changed the name of the unit that issues the Venture variable annuities to John Hancock Life Insurance Company (USA), from The Manufacturers Life Insurance Company (U.S.A.). The unit issues annuities from offices in Bloomfield Hills, Mich., and has an annuity service office in Boston, Manulife says.

Manulife is distributing the Venture annuities through John Hancock Distributors L.L.C.
