Manulife 529 Program Adopts Hancock Name

NU Online News Service, May 24, 2004, 1:34 p.m. EDT – Manulife Financial Corp., Toronto, is changing the name of its U.S. Manulife College Savings Program to John Hancock Freedom 529.[@@]

The John Hancock Freedom 529 program is a national Section 529 college savings plan sponsored by the Education Trust of Alaska.

Manulife, which recently completed a $10.4 billion acquisition of Hancock, wants to put most Manulife products sold in the United States under the Hancock name by early 2005.
