Pru Hires Dreyfus Exec, NAVA Board Member

NU Online News Service, Dec. 17, 2003, 11:47 a.m. EST – Prudential Financial Inc., Newark, N.J., says its domestic annuity arm has hired Matt Schiffman to be the executive vice president in charge of sales and distribution.[@@]

Schiffman is responsible for the proprietary, wire house, regional, independent broker-dealer and bank distribution channels.

Schiffman, who has been the national sales manager for third-party retail sales at Dreyfus Corp., New York, has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Franklin and Marshall College.

Prudential’s annuity arm also has hired Deborah Seabury to be a senior relationship manager

Seabury, who is a member of the board of the National Association for Variable Annuities, Reston, Va., will be managing sales through the wire house and regional broker-dealer channels.

Seabury previously was director of emerging business solutions at Lincoln National Life Insurance Company, a unit of Lincoln Financial Corp., Philadelphia.
